My recent stay at Hotel Porto Conte left me feeling rather disappointed, despite its beautiful location and fancy ambiance. While the hotel boasted a stunning setting and an air of luxury, several key aspects fell short of my expectations. First and foremost, the hotel's location was undeniably beautiful. Nestled in a picturesque spot, it offered breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The allure of a private beach and a private pool added to the initial appeal of the property, promising a serene and exclusive experience. The overall service at Hotel Porto Conte was kind and caring, with staff members displaying a friendly attitude. However, the rooms were rather lackluster and had an old feel to them. Although they were decent, they lacked any distinctive features that would have elevated them to the level expected from the look of the hotel. The bar at Hotel Porto Conte also left something to be desired. While the cocktails were indeed good, the service was slow and inefficient. Waiting excessively for a drink detracted from the intended enjoyment of the upscale atmosphere. One of the most disappointing aspects of my stay was the dining experience. The food served in the hotel's restaurant was shockingly bland, lacking in flavour and creativity. It was disheartening to find that even the most basic dishes could not deliver an enjoyable culinary experience. The lack of fresh ingredients and the absence of vegetables in the dishes were particularly disappointing. Additionally, the cleanliness of the plates was questionable at times, as if they had been wiped with a dirty towel. The only redeeming feature was the fruit served as dessert, providing a brief respite from the otherwise sad meals. Furthermore, the service in the restaurant was below par. The staff seemed disinterested and inattentive, failing to provide the level of service one would expect from a fancy establishment. This lack of attention to detail further compounded our sense of disappointment. Overall, our stay at Hotel Porto Conte was far from the better experience I had anticipated. While the location and the initial impression of grandeur were enticing, the hotel fell short in key areas. From the underwhelming rooms to the terrible food, the overall feel was one of disappointment. I left with the realization that for a more satisfying experience, I could have easily prepared a better meal myself for less than 10 euros.

Nice room, a little small but ok. Totally let down by the food provided. And the service leaves a lot to be desired.

Disappointing experience: + The nice location, close to the sea + The big swimming pool - breakfast: poor choice, scrambled eggs made from powder. - WiFi coverage extremely bad - stupid rules for the swimming pool - overpriced

Great location, food certainly not 4* or even close. Breakfast was a lot of cakes, doughnuts & croissants in various forms. A bit if tinned fruit and fresh fruit was available along with some scrambled eggs and bacon too. After 4 mornings of it I'd had enough.... Charged €3 the first day for a double espresso, then €3.60 the following few days. No control on the air conditioning within the room, it seemed to be set and then was off when you leave the room. To be honest, wasn't great value for money. Expensive for everything, if you don't go full board the options for eating out elsewhere are extremely limited. Location cannot be faulted if you fancy a quiet few days away. Very family friendly.!

Location good but in the middle of nowhere - breakfast lots of cakes etc lunch and dinner dreadful grey fish or meat with cold aubergine or courgette in oil practically inedible. Rooms very sparse but clean no kettle only 1 towel - no complementary water. We arrived quite late so the Porters had gone to bed so we all (group of 20) had to struggle with our cases down slopes and steps through storage area through a long dark tunnel not good made my backache for rest of the week not a good start. Only good thing is the access to lovely beach and lovely pool area. I would not go there again I was there in September 2022 Many of our group including me came home with COVID

I gave 3 stars for location and amenities (pool, private beach, overall setting). The 2 missing stars are due to: being too noisy (wedding guests partying until after 1 am, toilet layout very awkward too close to the hand basin, parking place difficult to find even if the parking lot was huge, the restaurant menu was poor and designed for clueless tourists). In italy you would expect better food. Not a 4 stars menu, more like a hostel menu. Ideal for large groups of loud foreign tourists, which we found aplenty

Definitely, we spent nice holiday time. I can just recommended this hotel. Minus: - Huge, heavy key from room and not card - I didnt find how to set air con, but was working properly - mosquitos - its in nature park, so be prepared - dark room - there was small window, but huge terrace. Plus: + Location - Portoconte nature park, Spaggia de Mugoni, Alghero, Airport.. + Bus in front of hotel + Amazing food - half board - breakfast, diner (2 courses and desert) + Beach - sunbeds and umbrella in one row were free + Sea - warm, calm and clean after thunderstorm either + Swimming pool - in the end has 2,1m + few people (September), not like on Alghero beach + Personal + Parking free with a lot of space + Huge renovated room with nice bathroom and air cond.(free safe box, TV, mini fridge, hairdrayer, additional pillows, a lot of universal power chargers..)

We have been here many years ago and we found it… not as it was once. Food: breakfast is ok for those who love sweets food (croissants, cakes) but not enough for those who love continental breakfast (scrambled eggs was dry, bacon not crispy). Lunch and dinner: good the pasta dishes, but very very bad fish and meat (years ago it was great food) Beach: great sightseeing. Pool: ok Room: ok for the size but cleaning service time is not clear (sometimes in the morning sometimes in the afternoon) Wi-Fi. Ok in common places but very poor in our room
